The Pittsburgh Passion finish their season with a perfect 8-0 record and secured a home play-off birth (berth) in the Northern Conference of the National Women's Football Association with their win against the Central PA Vipers, 77-0, on Saturday, June 16. Two other records were established Saturday night as well. Running back, Torina Henley #12, went for 11 carries for 176 yards and 5 touch downs, bring her to 1,010 yards for the season. Quarterback Lisa Horton also surpassed the 1,000 yard mark when she threw three completed passes for 93 yards and one touchdown, bringing her total passing yards for the season to 1, 008. Place kicker #9 Cristy Laudadio added to the scoreboard when she went 11 for 11 extra points. She went for her first field goal, a 41-yarder, but came up short on the kick.

In the opening offensive series of the game, fullback Lori Burkholder #36 took the handoff, faked a reverse to #21 Jen Moody, and threw a 41 yard pass to #1 Wil Walton for a touchdown. Walton also had two other touchdowns in the game. Her second touchdown came in the second quarter with a 31 yard pass from Horton. At the start of the third quarter, Walton ran back a 68 yard kick-off return for her third touchdown of the game. Fullback Lyndsi Hughes also had two touchdown runs in the first and second quarters. Burkholder #36 had the last touchdown of the game with a 10 yard run, bringing the score to 0-77.

The Passion defense held the Vipers to negative yardage and only two first downs. Beth Amato #38 led the defense with 1 unassisted tackle, 5 assisted tackles and a sack which cost the Vipers a loss of 10 yards. Olivia Griswold, Teri Murphy and Michelle Brevard Wilkerson helped to shut out the Vipers with 5 tackles each. Griswold also blocked a punt. Trumane Rogers had a total of 6 tackles for the Passion.

The Passion meet the Erie Illusion on Saturday, June 23, 7:00 p.m. for the first round of playoff's at Cupples Stadium. (930 E. Carson St.)
