PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Passion Women's Full-Contact Football begins
indoor pre-season practices this week. Evening practices will
transpire alongside a full regular strength and conditioning training
program. The Passion plays an 8 game regular season schedule in its
division, with two bye weeks, from April through June. The season
concludes with three rounds of division playoffs. For 2007, Nashville,
TN will host the National Championship in July.
The veterans and rookies comprise a vast variety of women in the
Pittsburgh region, ranging from full-time workers, full-time students,
and full-time mothers. Many are teachers, social workers, nurses,
attorneys, surgical technicians, accountants, and restaurant managers.
All players are active in the community year-round.
The team plays according to standard NFL rules. Practices will move
outside to George Cupples Stadium on the South Side, in mid-March,
with the home opener game scheduled for Saturday, April 21st. |
