In an exciting and new sponsorship of support, legendary Steeler, Franco Harris, joined hands with the Pittsburgh Passion on March 7, 2006.

"We are honored to have the respect of such a football great, and proud to come together with such a wonderful member of the Pittsburgh community", announced Passion team management.

"I'm a big fan, and I think if people come and watch it, they'll be
big fans also", said Harris in a 2005 documentary on the Passion,
narrated by fellow former Steeler, Dwayne Woodruff.

Harris is currently working with the team on much behind-the-scenes support and will be on hand to do the coin toss for the home opener, April 29th at Cupples Stadium on South Side. The Passion mission of teaching life lessons through sport, finds great continuity with Harris' continuing drive to help people find a positive balance in all areas of life. Both will build together this season.

The world has followed Harris since his 1972 famous "Immaculate
Reception", giving the Steelers their first-ever playoff win and beginning a dynasty. He was the fourth rookie in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards, named All-Pro in 1977, All-AFC three times, played in eight Pro Bowls, named Super Bowl MVP (IX), and inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990.
