PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Magazine and Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project
(PUMP) selected Lisa Horton to the 40 Under 40 awardees of 2006.
Horton is the starting Quarterback for the Pittsburgh Passion and the
Director of Activate Pittsburgh at YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh.
"Lisa's nomination really focused on the kind of leadership that the
40 Under 40 awards honor, said Executive Director of PUMP, Erin
Molchany.
Horton will enter her fifth season with the Passion and also runs the
strength and conditioning program for the team. During the day, she
works to improve health and lifestyles for children and their families
across the city.
Molchany added, "[Lisa's] role as the quarterback of the Pittsburgh
Passion, and her work in the community through Activate Pittsburgh and
the Downtown YMCA make her a role model for women and girls as well as
a champion for professional women's sports in the Pittsburgh region."
40 Under 40 annually celebrates 40 people under the age of 40 whose
creativity, vision, and passion enrich the Pittsburgh region.
Horton joins teammates, Jen Cairns and Kara Prentice, honored in years
past.
