PASSION VS. ILLUSION
This was no illusion. Fighting for a playoff berth, the Passion blitzed a game but undermanned Erie team 54-0 to run their season record to 4-2.

The Passion dominated every facet of the game, rolling up 18 first downs and 418 yards of total offense to 5 first downs and 72 net yards for the illusion.

The running game accounted for 277 yards, led by Lori Johnson with 108 yards on only 5 carries and TD runs of 24 and 54 yards in the first quarter. Workhorse fullback Lori Burkholder steamrolled her way to 86 yards on 15 carries with TD runs of 5 and 3 yards.

Quarterback Lisa Horton was a very efficient 6 completions in 10 attempts for 141 yards, with touchdown strikes of 30 yards to Burkholder and 40 yards to WR Jen Moody. Horton also ran for 34 yards and a TD, and her passing performance earned her a QB rating of 143.8

The versatile Lori Johnson excelled in every offensive category. She caught 2 passes for 37 yards and returned a kickoff for 26 yards in addition to her 108 yards rushing. That gave her 171 yards of total offense on the day.

On the other side of the ball, the Passion "D" rang up their fourth shutout in six games. JoJo Warner was the monster in the middle with 6 tackles, 4 of them sacks for -15 yards. Warner disrupted the Erie offense all night, and was a big reason the illusion had only 16 yards on 18 carries.

Ava Nickens continuted her strong play and scored the first TD of the season for the defense when she picked up a fumble and returned it 53 yards for the score.

Safety Teresa Conn had 2 interceptions, giving her 4 on the season, and Kelly Stoner picked off her second of the year and had a nice 11 yard return.

Shelley Zoelle returned to action for the first time this season and recorded a sack for -3 yards on her first play from scrimmage.

Kristan Sylvestri and Melissa Yeck led with 10 total tackles and a sack each, while LB Beth Amato was not far behind with 9 stops.

The Passion will now prepare for a critical game with playoff implications against the Columbus Comets. The Passion defeated the Comets 6-0 in their earlier meeting and expect a tough game again on the Comets' home turf.
